Who can apply
Student membership is open to anyone who is intending to study or about to start a degree in the engineering or technology sectors (Electrical, Electronic, Power, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Manufacturing, etc).

• Qualifications - we currently offer four professional qualifications, Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Engineering Technician (EngTech) and ICT Technician (ICTTech). Recognised as hallmarks of quality and professionalism, these qualifications open doors of professional opportunity worldwide.
• Scholarships and Awards - funds are available to support both Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies, including Travel Awards and Bursaries, ranging from £150 - £10,000.
• Professional development support including our mentoring services, courses, and our online skills development tool Career Manager
• Technical and Professional Networks - specialist online communities, bringing together individuals with a shared technical interest.
• Engineering and Technology Magazine, our flagship membership magazine covering science, engineering and technology.
• Events - held globally at our many Local Networks around the world
• The Library - based in London, the library holds over 65,000 books and journals and is the perfect way to keep yourself up-to-date with current and past technologies. For members who are unable to visit the library in person, books can be ordered via our website and sent to your home free of charge!
